The news program of Dragon TV reported the Jing'an Stadium (formerly known as Zhabei District Sports Center) designed by our Institute 1. At present, the main building of this project is completed and is expected to pass through the acceptance inspection in March next year, and it will be open to the public in the second half of next year.
Located at the junction of Central Ring Wenshui Road and the South-north Viaduct, this stadium project boasts a floor area of 92.7 Mu and a construction area of 71,291 m2, and is recognized as a large multi-purpose sports center that comprises complex gymnasium (5,600 seats), football field (750 seats), basketball arena, swimming pool, tennis stadium and table-tennis hall etc. for purpose of competition & performance, national fitness, support service and training etc. The most striking part of the entire facility is the stadium covering an area of 16253 m2 developed on roof 13m above the ground, and it's the first outdoor standard roof stadium in Shanghai.
This project is known the largest public construction project in Jing'an District (formerly known as Zhabei District) during implementation of the Twelfth Five-year Plan. It is believed that it will turn into a landmark in this district or even Shanghai upon its completion. Again, this design demonstrates the superiority of Haisum in the field of large civil building design.
